Welcome to CASA at Woodlawn!

Our mission is to advance the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Boyle and Mercer County Family Court system through the training and support of community volunteers who serve as court appointed advocates working with children, families and the court.

To understand more about the powerful impact of a CASA in a child’s life, listen to these videos and hear what the children themselves say.

Letter from the Advisory Council

Welcome to CASA at Woodlawn!

Court Appointed Special Advocates act as "a powerful voice" for child victims. CASA volunteers listen, investigate, report, and recommend on behalf of a youngster.

Sometimes in the confusing and intimidating system of courts and child welfare, a CASA volunteer is the one consistent ear and heart in that child's life. Together we can make a difference in the lives of abused, neglected, and dependent children in Boyle and Mercer Counties!

Our office is located on the Sunrise Children's Services Woodlawn Campus. The office is staffed by the CASA Director and Volunteer Coordinator. The CASA Staff and CASA Advisory Board are readily available to assist with any projects that require additional assistance.

The Director and Volunteer Coordinator are responsible for recruiting volunteers, and with assistance from several local professionals, train the volunteers. The CASA staff and CASA board support the volunteers.

Volunteers receive 30 plus hours of training, submit to a criminal background check, and are sworn in by the Family Court Judge. They advocate only for the child in the Court.

Please call or email the CASA office if you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer or donating to CASA!
